The Heartbeat

Yesterday Travis and I went to hear the baby's heartbeat. It was so much fun. Once he found it, you could hear it real well, but the baby kept moving alot. That might have been because the doctor was pressing pretty hard on my stomach. We wanted to get a recording of it so we could put it on the site, but it would have been to faint for us to hear over the computer. Sorry about that.

The doctor says everything still looks great! I go back on June 5th for my next check up. I am not sure, but I may be able to find out the sex of the baby then. If I can, watch out baby stores cause here I come. I am so ready to start getting things picked out, excuse me, me and my sister are ready to pick things out. I have a feeling this baby is going to be as much hers as it is mine and Trav's. She is already starting to talk to my "belly" and the baby can't even hear yet.

First Ultrasound

I had my first ultrasound!!!! It was exciting and scary. I was not supose to go see the doctor until May 6th, but on April 26, I started feeling pretty bad and called the doctor. He told me to come into the office on April 28th to have an ultrasound to make sure everything was OK. I never thought I could have such mixed emotions. I was excited about seeing the baby for the first time, but also nervous something could be wrong. Travis and I went in first thing Monday morning and had my first ultrasound. HOW AMAZING!!!! To see the baby's heart beat and watch him/her kick and move around. There are no words to describe how it makes you feel. We were both speechless. I layed there with tears in my eyes and thanking God for such a special moment and a beautiful baby inside me. The doctor said the baby looked great. According to the size of the baby, they said he/she was 11 weeks 2 days old. I was actually 11 weeks 3 days. So that couldn't be any better. The heartbeat was 171 beats per minute.

I am still going to the doctor this week. Instead of going on the 6th, I will be going on the 8th. I will post again if anything changes from now until the appointment. I will also put the pics of the ultrasounds up, hopefully, sometime this week.

OH YEAH!!!! I have not been sick for about a week now. How great that feels. I am starting to somewhat enjoy eating again. Thank God for second trimesters. HAHAHA.

The First Appointment

We had our first appointment on Tuesday, March 25th. It was just a check up appointment. They did health backgrounds on both me and Travis and went over a lot of things for us to expect. She started to go over morning sickness and I told her I knew all about it. I have been sick since last Thursday. Not only am I having it in the morning, but also in the afternoon and evening. In other words, sun up to sun down. YUCK! Sarah, my nurse, gave me some different prenatal vitamins to try and a sucker I can eat every 8 hours to help with the nausea. What a difference that sucker made (at least for about 3 hours). We are scheduled to go back in on May 6th to hear the baby's heart beat. We are so excited!!!! I thank God everyday for giving me the chance to go through this and I pray for extra strength to get through the sickness.

Good News!

We're pregnant! Yep, you read that right. We're pregnant! I am 5 weeks along and feeling "great". Luckily I have not had any morning sickness yet, just crazy, vivid dreams and being real tired, realllll tired. The baby is due on November 15 and we are toooo excited. I have my first apointment on March 25th. I should have my first ultra sound around my 11th week, so I have about another month and a half before I get to hear the heart beat. I will update the blog after every milestone we have to keep you all apart of our wonderful experience.
